Is It Safe to Use an LED Face Mask During Pregnancy?
No emojis, no panic — just what the literature says.
January 14, 2025 · The Radia Atelier
Pregnancy reshuffles every skincare routine. LED therapy is one of the gentler options on paper. Here is the honest picture and the conservative recommendation.
What we know
LED therapy uses non-ionising visible and near-infrared light. It does not generate heat or UV. There are no documented harms to pregnancy, but there are also no large-scale pregnancy trials, which is true of almost every cosmetic device.
The conservative recommendation
Speak to your obstetrician. If they clear it, LED is generally considered low-risk during pregnancy because the dose stays superficial to facial skin and does not reach the fetus.
