How Often Should You Use an LED Face Mask?
The schedule the clinical trials actually used.
January 14, 2025 · The Radia Atelier
The honest answer is: most people use their masks too rarely to see results, or too often to optimise dose. Here is the schedule the clinical literature supports.
The sweet spot: 3–5 sessions per week
Photobiomodulation follows a biphasic dose response. Too little light, no effect. Too much, diminishing returns. Three to five 10-minute sessions per week, spaced with at least 12 hours between, is the protocol used across most published red and near-infrared LED trials.
Daily use: is it safe?
Yes, but unnecessary. Cellular response saturates. Adding extra sessions does not accelerate results in a healthy adult.
Skipping weeks
Consistency matters more than intensity. Two months of 3 sessions per week will outperform two weeks of daily use followed by a gap.

- Morning or evening?
- Either works. Many users prefer evening because the mask integrates naturally into a wind-down routine.
