Seven LED Mask Mistakes Most First-Time Users Make
A short list of fixable mistakes.
January 25, 2025 · The Radia Atelier
Most people who quit LED therapy in month two are doing one of these seven things. Fix them and the device starts earning its place on your shelf.
The seven mistakes
1. Treating dirty skin
Sunscreen, oil, makeup — all reflect light. Cleanse first, every time.
2. Applying serums before
Even water-based serums refract the light. Save them for after.
3. Holding the phone during the session
Breaks the contact between mask and skin. Reduces dose. Eyes closed, phone down.
4. Using it twice a day
Cellular response saturates. Extra sessions do not accelerate results.
5. Quitting at week two
Visible results land at weeks 4 to 12. You are quitting just before the payoff.
6. Using a mask without eye protection
Closed eyelids are not enough at high irradiance. Use built-in pads or external goggles.
7. Comparing daily in the mirror
Your eye adapts; the camera does not. Take a baseline photo, repeat every 4 weeks, in the same light.
